It has white background with orchids. I have never seen another set like it. I did use it for a while, cracked some, broke some and finally divided it up for my daughters. In the 50's china was cheap in Japan and I mean its real china. I can put my hand behind it and see my hand. It cost him more to send it home almost then it did to buy it. I doubt things are the same there now. Life is meant ...Wonderful lessons of the heart hon! Life is meant to be enjoyed. I hate when people say they are saving up for a rainy day, retirement, leaving a legacy for their children. To me it says, they don't think they are worth the effort or luxury of something nice and delicate, or time for enjoyment. I have a set of expensive stoneware dishes. They no longer make this particuliar set anymore. I use them for ordinary meals of hamburger and fries. Last year one of the cups of the set broke at the time I was upset knowing I could never find another match. Today another split on the bottom and started leaking all over. I rinsed it out and put it aside to use as a nice pot for a summer planting. Meanwhile I have gathered small pieces of different stoneware here and there. It's a wonderful hodgepodge of things I enjoy looking at. Why? Because the little things in life are worth enjoying now instead of someday. Take Rusty's china out and enjoy the beauty of ordinary days in splendor.
