mixed blessings

Well, Kevin informed me today that he will be leaving on feb. 4. I did not expect his 14 month's to start so soon. Man, I am going to miss him.

On a good note, a gal I met via e mail will be coming home soon. I had sent her unit a Christmas card and this gal, Jennifer, well her major actually got the card. So we had e mailed each other a few times. So e mailed me one day and asked if I would mind e mailing Jennifer because she was just having a rough time. So we have been e mailing for a while and then I found out that she is out of New River, but is transferring to Pendleton as soon as she gets back! We are going to hook up when she gets here. It is good to make new friends.

I need to start walking again. I am starting to get flabby. I also should start working out with weights again. I am not supper concerned about my weight, I just want to tone up what I do have.

Amber is going to try out for softball today. I am not sure if she is going to make it, some of those girls are really good. I wish Amber all of the best.

Nikki wants to test out of the 8th grade, so I have to call the school district on Monday and find out how she can take the test. I think Nikki will not have a problem with th test.

Ryan is still Ryan. His learning is real slow and he has basically stopped where he is. So all we can do is keep pushing forward and hope that the light bulb goes on.

I am off to do some cleaning and quilting today.  will chat with everyone later.

up and moving

Good morning everyone! Well Rusty said that I made him feel like shit last night. When he asked me if I wanted to run down to the post I told him no and that I was sick of him dropping everything to rush down there for every little thing.

Rusty called me latter on and asked if I wanted to go get some ice cream, so we went out. I guess both of us are a little stressed out, however I do still hate the post for taking all of Rusty's spare time.

So last night while we were eating ice cream I confessed to him that I had done something that he did not want me to do. I called some of his friends and asked them to come to the cemetery when we have his parents laid to rest.

Rusty asked me why I did that since he wanted a very small ceremony. I told him because he deserved to be surrounded by people that love him. I don't think it is right for Rusty to have no one to lean on but me. So I hand picked a few guys to show up. I pick strong men of character and integrity. I guess I figured since there will be no family there (except the children and I) I would make Rusty a family.

Rusty just thank you to me for thinking about him.

I am going to take the girls out today to get their hair cut. Their hair is getting so long! They don't want it cut short just a trim. I need to ask Rusty to take Ryan to get his hair cut. Ryan likes going to get his hair cut with his dad.

Well I better get busy with my day. Have a great day!

dull day

Man, I got a lot done today but I was also so lazy. I guess it seems like I got a lot done just because I actually had time to do stuff.

Our middle daughter just shot me a dirty look because I told her to get off the phone. She was like WHYYYYYYYYYY. I told her the truth  and fired back " because I am getting a head ache just by sitting here listening to you talk on the phone"

Rusty just got home from yet another doctor's appointment so I can now eat dinner. We are not having anything fancy, sloppy joe's, but I like to eat with Rusty.

I must confess that as a family we all sit down and eat together about once a year. We just seem to be going in so many different directions. I usually have dinner done early so that everyone can grab it and head off to their next event. So I really cherish the times when I do get to sit down and eat with Rusty.

Well I am going to go eat. I will chat with everyone in the a.m.

Well so much for eating dinner with Rusty. Someone from the damn v.f.w. just called and he is walking out the door. Well at least he could take his sandwich with him. So it looks like I will be eating in front of the t.v. so I won't have to eat alone. ( the children are at youth group)

I am glad to be home

Today was a long day. At least it did not rain and that is good. I swear to you that sorting stuff is so mentally draining.

Then today we went down to stand up for Ryan baseball coach. She had done something wrong and they wanted to take her punishment a little to far. If the league had taken away her ability to coach the handi cap team then I know that there would not be a team. All these handi cap children want is a chance to play ball like other children. Well the coach just called me and the league is going to let her coach the team! So this spring Ryan will get to hear the words "play ball"!

mmmmm I just some hot chai tea....lets see where was I?

So while I was taking a bath tonight Rusty asked me what I was doing on Jan. 26. Like I know so I told him to go look on the calendar. He was messing with me. Elle is coming home for a visit!!!! I am so happy that I get to see our oldest daughter even if it is only for a few days.

Kevin called today and he is back in California. I can't wait to see him this weekend. Life here is so strange when the house is not filled with people.

I am almost done knitting scarf number 2. Once I am done with that I am going to go give them to some local homeless people. I know that it is not much, but I am trying to reach out to the more needy in our community.

Anyway I am off to bed. good night everyone.

Bad weather

Man all it has done today is rain! To top it all off the wind is blowing like you would not believe. So I had to add sunshine bear so that I can see a little sunshine.

Today went good. I actually got up tonight  and tomorrow nights dinners cooked! I even made Rusty some candy. I am telling you that man is spoiled.

My mom called today and when I saw here number come up on caller i.d. I did not want to answer the phone. Why would my mother be calling me in the middle of the day? Well anyway she was watching the news and saw all of the mud slides in California and was wondering if we were o.k. LOL! Yes we are fine.

I do hope this rain stops before tomorrow when we have to go move the rest of my mother in laws stuff. Both Rusty and I are going to have to drive up there, just so we can bring things back here. We had thought about renting a u haul, but that is yet more money out of our pocket. We think that we can get everything if we cram everything into the truck and the car.

All I can say is..... LIfe is good and Sometimes you just have to suck everything up.

good morning

I am up and moving early, and when I checked my e mail I got some great news! One of my very good friends is finally going to have a baby! I am so happy for them!!!!!! No one deserves to be parents more then Jen and Rich do.

I am feeling a little bit better today, So I am hoping to be in a better mood all day.

I will chat with everyone later.
