life is good

I found out this morning that Amber is th third fastest breast stroke person on the swim team! So I got an idea as to how to make her the fastest.

I must admit that Elle is the one who gave me the idea! Elle called me today to tell me that the energy pills she bought are awesome and that she has so much energy. So that got me to thinking.

If I give Amber the energy pills she could be number one on her team! Rusty thinks that I am horrible, I think I am just helping her along.

The amazing race starts tonight! I am so happy. That is one of my favorite shows and I so want to be on it one day!

Tomorrow we are going down to base. We need to check on Ray's cat and then rusty wants to go buy some sweats. He says they are for him, but I know that I will wear them and just give him back his old ones!

I will chat with everyone later.

still raining

It is still raining this morning, but that is o.k. since we really need the rain.

Rusty had a late night last night so I got up with the children. But what am I suppose to do? I did the dishes, started laundry, and cleaned up our bathroom. All of the stuff I need to get done involves noise, so I can't do that. HMMM... so here I sit.

I did get an interesting e mail from the lady that I foster for. It seems that they are doing some restructuring and she wants to talk to me about getting involved by being on the board of directors. I am going to listen to what she has to say, but I am going to have to think about it. I have "worked" for charity before and got burned so bad.

I am trying those crest whiting strips and they seem to work good. I wish I would have tried them sooner.

Anyway. I have to go take Amber to school.

its raining!

Three cheers for rain! We so need the rain and it will really help set our sod in. I am so glad that we got the furniture sealed before the rain came!

Our dog Rascle will not go out in the rain. I am telling you that she can hold it forever! Our foster dog, Butter, likes to go out and play ball in the rain! Well I was not about to go out there and play in the rain with him.

Work went o.k. last night. My boss was stressed out for some reason, so I just avoided him. One of the things I do at work is called voter cards to make sure that there is no voter fraud going on. So last night I called this card and finally what I thought was voice mail picked up. It was actuall the number for the department of homeland security! Well I am glad that my number did not come up on their caller i.d.!

Tonight is going to be a lazy night. I am going to sit in bed and watch some t.v. with the children.

I hope everyone has a dry night!

home

Well I just rolled in the door. It is now 2 a.m. and everyone except the dogs and I are in bed.

I am so looking forward to this week. We have a lot going on, but it is all fun stuff. I am really hoping that the "big storm" hit's us. I do want to have an excuse to not go out! I would love to have a day of just sitting on the sofa.

Lets see what else has been going on? The other night I said to Rusty " have you heard from your brother at all?" That was the wrong thing to say. The look of death was shot to me. He said no and that was the end of that. I should have known better then to mention his brothers name.

I have a lot of phone calls to make in the morning. There is actually a list of people who want to adopt butter! I am so happy for him. I am not sure if I mentioned this or not, but the L.A. county animal rescue said that Butter was not adaptable and that he was aggressive and should be put down. Those people have no idea what they are talking about! All he does is lay in the grass and play ball all day.

Amber really likes the swim team except that she is sore now and has very little time to do anything else except go to school, dance and swim. Oh darn, she does not have time to hang out or time to talk on the phone. Well break my heart! LOL

This weekend the girls leave for summer camp. Last year Amber got injured really bad so I told the girls that they are NOT allowed to get injured this year. I am not in the mood to take care of another sick person.

I am wondering if I should eat something? It is late, and if I eat something now it will only stick to my hip's. I wonder if there is a way that I can eat something and then have the weight transferred to someone else?

lets travel

So Rusty gets a notice that his 20 year reunion will be in October. So I was like well lets go! I have never been to Maryland. Then I said " maybe we could leave a day earlier and stop in D.C."

Rusty then informs me that he has been to D.C., but that there are a few things that he would like to still see. I told him that there were somethings that I missed when I was in D.C. the last time. I said that I want to see the house at Arlington National Cemetary. Rusty then tells me that out of all the times he has been to D.C. his parents NEVER took him to Arlington!!!

So we are definitely going to go spend a day in D.C., yes I know that Arlington is actually in Virginia, but o.k. Rusty will enjoy seeing the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier. I want to see the American history museum.

I am going to have to do a web search and see what there is to do in southern Maryland. I am so jazzed that we are going to be doing some traveling this year!

Rusty and I are talking about giving Amber a really big sweet 16 party. So we still need to work out all the details on that.

I talked to the lady that I foster for and she said that there are 4 calls on butter! He is such a great dog. Even Rusty said that he would not mind keeping Butter. I however did not start fostering dog's so that we could find another dog.

I started fostering because I want to help people this year. So then why am I fostering dogs?  Well I think it is great to take in these dogs, feed them, give them a bath, and helping them to adjust to life, so that they can go into a perment home and make someone else's life better.

I am going to go get ready for work.

work sucked!

So, I go into work last night and I knew that we were going to be one person short, so I was ready to pick up her slack. However, when I get there I find out that speed freak Lisa is going to be very late. Great now I have to do her job too?

So I got caught up on my job and I went to start on Lisa's job when I discovered that my keyboard is gone! What the fuck? Who would take just a keyboard? Lisa would that is who. It seems the other night that her keyboard stopped working so she took mine! Well maybe if she would stop spilling coffee all over her keyboard it would work!

So I said screw it and left everything for Lisa to do when she finally got there.

Then the other office girl... who also is a speed freak and has no brain left.....tells me that it is our bosses birthday. So I suggest that we do something for him on Sunday when we have a little bit more time. Oh no that would be to easy. These gals stopped working to go get a cake, some ice cream, and two big jugs of punch. What the fuck? we are in the middle of a booming petition season, and we are backed up!

Anyway, about 1 a.m. I cleaned up my work space, took out the trash and wiped everything down. I left a huge mess for the other people to clean up. Can you believe that these crack heads bought ice cream and we do not even have a freezer! There was melted ice cream everywhere, cake on the floor and dirty dishes everywhere. I just walked away.

I have to remember that as soon as this petition season is over I am so out of there. The only reason I am still there is because my boss let me come back to work when I really needed the money and when he really did not the work for me. I can't wait to just walk away and I will never look back.

Amber had her first swim practice today. Amber came home just starving and ready to eat the tile off the floor! I am hoping that between dance and swimming that she will not have the time or the energy to get into trouble.

I think I am going to go have a bowl of cereal and then watch t.v. the rest of the night!

another foster dog

Well, this is our new foster dog. His name is butter, and he is great! I can't believe that he has been at shelter since November. Even Rusty said that the family that gets butter is getting a great dog.

Life has been so busy the last few days and I swear it has just gotten away from me. That's o.k. because I am sure that the laundry elf is on strike, so laundry will be there when ever I get a chance to do it.

I am almost done with this quilt I am making. I am going to put it in a "baby" basket for an auction. This is another one of the fund raisers that the church is doing to help the children raise some money for the trip.

Rusty is doing good. Now that the weather has cooled down a bit he is feeling much better. Rusty wants to get started on the deck, and he says that we can have it done in a day! LOL O.K. picture this, Rusty and I with power tools and a stack of wood. Neither one of us has built a deck before, but we do own a book on how to build one. LOL

I going go get busy and try to get something done today before I have to leave for work.
