a turn for the better

I love those dresses! Women looked so classey back then.

Anyway, I was sitting at the table try to figure out a quilt square when Rusty walked up and dropped an envelope in front of me. To my shock it was a child support check! I am not sure how I am suppose to figure out to do with my $97 dollars. Lets see that is $97 for a year and two children. What does that equal..less then a penny a day? LOL But I am just glad that they finally got something out of him!

Then I had to get up early today and I walked into the hall way to hear rain beating down on our skylight. I was so happy to hear that sound. We so need the rain and I must say that I like the sound of it. Note to self...turn off the sprinklers.

So today is bill paying day. I sat down and paid the bills and to my shock we still have money left. Not a lot of money, but still.

I had to order two Santa gifts today. One of the Santa gifts was a Paddington Bear. Now this bear has been a thorn in my side for about a month. I have been looking on line and I saw a few Paddington's but they were not what I was looking for. I even looked at FAO Schwartz and Harrods. That right I was going to pay to have the damn thing shipped here. So Ifinally found the dang thing at Barnes and Noble. Why a book store has paddington is beyond me. Anyway, if I ordered $5 worth of stuff the the shipping was free. So I found something else to order. The I go to check out and I enter my coupon and the total went up! They gave me a coupon for 15% of paddington but then charged me shipping. So I took the coupon off and Paddington is on his way here!

The other Santa gift that I wanted to get was for Amber. I was going to pay for an add on to her Costa Rica trip. So I called the place and it was to late to add it on. On I typed out a note from Santa describing what she would be doing and I am just going to give her the money to pay for it while she is there. At the end I will post the letter I wrote.

On my must do list today is fix Rustys quilt. I am not sure what this man does to his quilt but he rips them. So last night he was complaining that it needed to be fixed, so I am going to do that today.

I am just so glad that I am finally having a good day!

grab a drink and sit down

Grab something to drink and a snack. I have a story to tell.

Yesterday I got an e mail from this place called free cycle. You can post a message if you need something or if you have something to give away for free. So yesterday this lady was looking for help for her sister. I read all about the children and I did not have anything. So I deleted the message.

A few hours later I was putting Ryans clothes away and I was just discusseted. Ryan has so much stuff that he never even touched.

So I went back to my e mail and I emailed this lady and asked her to give me a call. I wanted to feel her out and see if she would accept "used" stuff.

While I was going to get Ryan this lady calls me back. Nikki is sitting in the passanger seet just listening to my conversation. I hung up the phone and Nikki just smiled.

This morning I tore through Ryans room. I just can't believe how much crap this child has and the really sad thing is he has never played with 99% of it.

I started putting everything on our area rug in the living room. The I walked into the kitchen and I saw a basket of stuff that Nikki had pulled out of her room. In the basket was her toss and tickle me elmo. Nikki use to love elmo and I was that crazy mom that would drive all over just to get her an elmo. Now she was giving it away. Nikki said "I don't play with it any more, I am sure their baby will love it".

So I added that to the rug. Then I went back to hall closet and pulled out some odd things that I had acumulated over the year. All of that went on the rug.

Off to the garage to get look through my over flow pantry. Two trips later I was done out there.

As soon as I got done the lady called me and told me that she was out front. When she walked into the house she cried. She said that she never knew a blessing would come from the computer and that most of the people were e mailing her back and being very rude.

Sad thing is we were there last year. It felt so good to help someone else. I am glad to see that there are still people out there who do not care if it is "new" and are just happy to be able to put something under the tree.

That was my morning.

Now I am on my fourth cup of tea and I still have a list of things to do.

Today I have to take Ryan to the dentist so I am sure that will be a joy.....not. After that I will need to cook dinner. I think I am doing soup and salad for dinner. That is quick and easy.

Does anyone know why spell check is not working?

can you fire a slave?

Yesterday was one of those day when I should have stayed in bed!

The girls tell me that we are out of t.p. as they are walking out the door. Great I have no cash, or the atm card! Do I just not pee all day long?

I got most of the China put in the China cabnit and I was trying to pack away the rest. As you can see from the pictures, the kittens were ever so helpful.

I called my boss and was going to ask him to pay me out, so that I could go buy t.p. ( and other shit at wal mart) My boss never sleeps! Yesterday he slept for 12 hours.

I finally got a hold of him and he told me to come over in an hour. So I did. He had not even gone to the bank yet! Then his truck would not start, so I had to give him a ride to the bank.

I did find some material and I dropped it off to my friend Lyn. She is going to help me make some quilt tops for all of the boys.

Got that done and got home just in time for Amber to go petition. Then Amber calls me and tells me that there is no place for her to work. I had to remind her that I was very serious when I when I said that I expect her to be working every day to help pay for her trip to Europe.

I asked Nikki to help me move some furniture so that we could get the Christmas tree up. Then we decided to put the tree together first. That was when Nikki said " you are fired from ever buying a tree. This tree looks so bad. Well I guess grandpa would be happy he always wanted a Charlie Brown tree. Next year please let Rusty buy the tree." Oh Lord help me now!

Then I had to go get Ryan from the after school program. All of the road were blocked off for some reason!

Ryan and I got home at the same time as Rusty. So it was soup and sandwiches for dinner.

After dinner I still had to take georgee girl over to a friends house. My friend was going to remove her stitches. On a good not George had pulled a few of her own out so it did not take to long to pull the rest of the stitches.

By the end of the day my stomach was killing me. I guess I over did it. So I just made a cup of tea and fell into a hot bath.

Nikki got up late so I will have to run here to school. I guess that is cool because I will just go to the store while I am out.

I so enjoy being a house rat, but latly all I have done is run. This sucks. I want to be a house rat again.

Chrissy post her gas prices everyday. For the recoed our gas is now $3.27 a gallon. I know I should not bitch because Europe pays more for gas, but this sucks! If we had public transportation here I would use it.

I think I have finally come up with a Christmas gift for my mom. I think I am going to pay her electric bill for the next few months. My mom does not need anything, but since my dad died she has been having a hard time making ends meet. So I figure this would help her out.

I am off to start my day.

I need to get moving today

I have a lot to do today, so there is no more time to be sick.

Today I need to go by a ladies house and pick up some clothes, then I have to go see my boss and get paid. I have to go to wal mart and pick up several things. Then I have to take material over to a lady that is going to help me do some quilting.

yesterday I started infusing my body with nothing but whole foods. I was putting everything through my juicer and eating anything that did not come in a wrapper. I am going to beat this damn bug.

Well I had Rusty bring the tree in from the back of his truck. The children really want to get decorating for Christmas. I am the one that usually have everything up the day after Thanksgiving. This year I was sick, so I am trying to play catch up and trying to get the house cleaned before I start decorating.

Ryan started basketball yesterday and from there he went to the after school program. Ryan said that he liked going to basketball.

Rusty is not sure if putting Ryan in the afterschool program is good for him. I do understand his point, but we are going to give it a shot. I just want Ryan to do something other then watch t.v. and play video game. It is so hard on Ryan because all of the children in the neighborhood pick on him. I am just hoping that this will give him the oppertunity to be with other children and expierence new things.

Last night I asked Rusty what he wanted for Christmas. Hesaid "I have no clue but you can bet that I will not be my father and buy you power tools"

I said " speaking of that thing where is it? Why cant I play with it?"

Rusty said "just because my father bought you power tools so that you can cut holes in the wall does not mean that I am going to let you use it!"

Well darn it. I have been wanting to put in a few more windows. My father in law and I were two peas in a pod!

I hear my day calling me, so I better get busy.

thanksgiving with the flu

Thanksgiving dinner was so good! I think that everyone had a nice day. I know all of the marines did.

I broke out all of the fine china,a the guys thought that was cool. I did manage to squeeze 19 people around a table that is only suppose to seat 6! I don't think any one really cared that we had people sitting on each others laps.

I worked Thursday night and then met the girls and Louis in line at wal mart. Did some shopping, but did not that many good deals. Then it was back home to get four hours of sleep before I headed back for another 13 hour shift. Then it was back to work on Saturday. I came home for dinner and then went back to work. As soon as I got to work I got so sick.

I called Rysty come get me. As soon as we walked in the door I started puking. I do not know what it is about me, but I puke I pull all of me stomach muscles. So now I am feeling better, but I am walking all hunched over because my stomach hurts so much.

I have a long list of things to do today, but I am going to take it slow and only do what I can without hurting my stomach.

Being sick sucks!

O.K. enough complaining, life is waiting for me. The children really want to decorate for Christmas, so I am going to try to clean the living room and move the furniture around so I can put the tree up.

a very busy day

Today I am up and moving. I got up early because Nikki and two of her friends are going to go stuff Thanksgiving baskets.

So why am I complaining? My children could be doing a lot worse things then stuffing Thanksgiving baskets! They are not on the street, doing drugs, they have not been arrested and most of all they are willing to help. I need to be Thankful for this.

Last night I tried to have some alone time with Rusty. I say tried because we were just getting into it when Amber started banging on the door. When I told her to go away that we were having sex ......Amber reached her hand in the door and started turning the lights on and off. There is nothing like having sex with your teenager at the door.

To top it all off all Amber wanted to know if Sam could spend the night. Like we care! NOT. Did I mention that Amber and Sam broke up and got back together? Anyway Sam went to work with Rusty this morning and so he just spent the night. Whatever. Oh I should mention that they do not sleep in the same room. We will have no one practicing on making grand babies.

Right now I have a kitten sitting on my lap. I can remember just a month back when all three of the kittens were able to fit on my lap, now they can only sit here one at a time.

It is getting cold here!  Cold as in maybe down to the 50's. I know that is not cold to some people, but to me that is freezing!

I did finish my turban yesterday. There was only one.  problem. The directions only said how to sew the turban so I had to get on line and figure out how to tie the damn thing. maybe if I spoke one of the languages from the middle east.....well lets say it was interesting. I did get a picture of me wearing my turban.

I also got one of my Christmas craft projects done. I will have to take a picture of it for you.

Well I need to go get my stinky body into a shower and get moving. My day is waiting for me, so I better go greet it.

perspective

Well I ended up doing all of the running around today. Amber was able to pick up some extra hours so I can't complain there.

It was actually kinda nice to get out. I was talking with the lady at the grocery store and we were talking about Thanksgiving. She said a lady came through her line and she asked the lady if she would be cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. The lady said no because she lost her husband and son this year. O.K. that put things into perspective for me. I could be doing worse then cooking dinner for any all marines that walk through the door.

So I think I am ready for Thanksgiving. I am sure that I forgot something, but what would Thanksgiving be if you don't forget something.

This year year I will be stuffing the bird with fresh oranges and cranberry's. I actually can't wait to taste it!

Tomorrow Nikki and her friend Hope will be going down to the vfw to help pack food baskets and help distribute food. I think it is great that the girls are doing this.

I am ready for black Friday. I have the sales papers and I think I am hitting wal mart first. Yes, I am that crazy women who stands in line and wait's for the stores to open, but hey at least I am getting some good deals.

Well, I am going to go get some sewing done. I have been saying that all week, but I am just going to let everything else go and go sew. I am sure that the house work will be here when I am done sewing! LOL
