odd conversations

Lets see... all of the children are at school, Rusty just left for another business trip, the kittens have been fed, and it is going to be a cool day here. We are only going to up near 80.

So over the last few days it seems that all I have done is talk to the girls about sex.

Amber told me that she is going to take one of her friends down to the free clinic so she can birth control. This girl told Amber that her and her boyfriend have been having un protected sex. Amber goes on to tell me that there are so many pregnant girls at her school.

So I ask Amber is her and Sam used condoms. Ambers face lost all of her coloring. I reminded mber that both her and Nikki were conceived on the pill.

Amber said yes we used a rubber and I am still on the pill, but we are not having sex anymore. I told Amber that I can't stop her from having sex, but that she better use all the protection she can because the last thing she needs is a baby.

I go to pick Nikki up from softball. Nikki said that while they were having pictures taken the teachers were talking about all the pregnant kids in the school. There is a total of 24 students that are pregnant in their high school. Nikki also went on to tell me that only half of the seniors will graduate this year.

Well isn't this just wonderful news.

Nikki said that she is still going to wait until she is married to have sex, and that she wants to graduate college before she even thinks about having children. Nikki went on to tell me that if she is not married by 30 she will consider having a child out of wed lock.

What? I just left that one alone. I figure at 16 she does not know what she is talking about. I know that Nikki will find someone with her same values, but at 16.....

Nikki did tell that there is a boy named John that has a crush on her. Nikki said that Rusty might like him because he is on the golf team. I had to laugh. Rusty like a boy that wants to date his daughters. I said " Well him and Rusty can go golf together and then if Rusty does not like him then he can beat him with a club and burry him in a sand pit". Nikki just laughed.

Amber asked Rusty to take a day off and take her up to the college to help her enroll for college and get all the paper work so that she can use Rusty's veterans benefits.

So that will have to be done soon.

Amber also asked Rusty to make an appointment for her tattoo. That's right Amber is getting a tattoo for her 18th Birthday, and Rusty said that he would take her and pay for it.

Amber is going to get a turtle on her foot. My dad use to call Amber a turtle, so that is why Amber chose the turtle.

The other day Nikki asked me what she should say if she encounters war protesters while on her trip across the country.

Wow. I usually just leave them alone unless they get in my face and then I give it right back.

Several years ago while Rusty was in Iraq I went to war protest. The children and I made the front page! Imagine Rusty's shock when he saw that.

What happened was.... there was a group of protesters that started protesting at all of the bases in San Diego and then they were going to work their way up the coast. When they got to Pendleton the protesters got more then they bargained for.

There is nothing worse then a bunch of pissed off, sexually deprived marine wives. So we all got together and stood right there at the main gate protesting the protesters.

Today I am hoping not to talk about sex with my children. I am hoping to get all of the laundry folded, and get the house cleaned up a little bit.

On a good note, the kittens are now litter box trained and eating out of a saucer! I am so thrilled to not have to bottle feed them any more. The kitten should be going back to the shelter in mid June, so they can be adopted.

here we go

Here is Amber at prom. My baby is all grown up. They had their prom over on the coast, and I know they had a blast! It was the last big event of Ambers high school years.

Nikki had her sweet 16 birthday. This was a day of very mixed emotions.

I gave Nikki one of my pearl necklaces, a pearl braclet and a pair of Jade earrings. When the girls turn 16 I gave each of them some of my jewelry. I figure I would rather let them have it and wear it. I can always borrow it back.

Rusty got Nikki a new cross necklace, a Saint Christoper....he is the  saint of travelers... Rusty also got Nikki a hot pink usmc jacket that Nikki just loved.

When a girl in our family turns 16 they get the traditional gold maple leaf. This has been going on for three generations.

My father was able to place Ambers neckleace on her neck, but my dad is dead now. Nikki just cried when she got her maple leaf. Nikki did wear it for one day and now it is sitting in the safe.

Nikki is so mad at my dad for not being here. I am also mad at him. Nikki and I still need to sit down and cry. One of these days we will.

Also on Nikki's birthday Nikki got a phone call from this place called live offensively. Live offensively sells some very edgy Christian t shirts. Anyway Nikki applied to go tour the country with them. She would be crossing this country selling t shirts all the major Christian concerts and festivals.

Well they accepted Nikki! Nikki will be flying into PA. on June 7 and she will come home on June 30. Then she will have three days to pack and leave for Nicaragua. Nikki will be gone a total of 6 weeks this summer.

I am so excited for her and more then that I am so proud of her!

So yesterday I spent the day resting and I feel so much better today. So now it is back to my real life. I have laundry to do, dinner to cook, and a house to clean.

Yesterday I saw something moving in the grass, so I went out to see what the hell it was. Well here it is. Keep in mind this lizard has no tail! So I am wondering if one of the cats got it.

Now that I am out of sick bay and I am seeing all of these naked marines and sailors.... wow my heart is racing.

Today we are pulling into port. We will be pulling into Harwich today!

Louise has offered to show all of us around her home town. I don't think anyone will notice a group of crazy American ladies walking through the streets! LOL

Today we are going to tour Suffork. I have never been to the UK, so I am so excited to be here.

Tomorrow Lyn is going to give us a tour of her home town.

I need to add that Louise and her very handsome son's have offered to Amber in London. I just know that they will show her a good time!

I survived.....

Well I have survived my mom being here for a week, prom, Nikki's sweet sixteen party,a UTI and the kittens learning how to climb the stairs.

Now I am trying to survive heat stroke.

Nikki had a double hitter on Saturday. So I sat there in the bleachers in 100 + temps. I took care of Nikki. I made sure that she had enough water, Gatorade, sunscreen and fruit. I even went and bought both teams popsicles.

I know how to handle the heat. I have lived here long enough to deal with our high temps. I know everything that I should be doing.

Do you think I took care of myself? Oh no I have blisters on back, and I am still trying to recover from heat stroke.

I told Rusty that I would call him later and tell him that I am taking a sick day. My head hurts, my sun burn hurts, my skin has scales, my eyes hurt, my hair hurts, and I am still not peeing enough.

Rusty and George have been such a big help. George took the kittens for a night. Then once she brought them back Rusty took care of them, and he ran the children every where. Rusty is so awesome to me. I so needed to rest and he made sure that I got it.

So we are looking at another scorcher of a day. Rusty told me to pump the water and to sleep on the sofa. I guess I deserve a sick day, but I kinda feel guilty.

Will someone please come rub aloe on my back? It hurts so bad right now.

O.K. ladies here we go! I stole the Queen Mary 2!

So I have decided that Lyn will be our captain. I chose Lyn for two reason's. First of all Lyn's hubby is in the Navy, and second of all because she is from the UK.

Ladies, we are heading to the UK to pick up Louise!

I made arrangements to have plenty of grass for Paula's cow. We will have plenty of people to walk our dogs and scoop out our litter boxes. I ordered nothing but the best food, but most of all......

I have kidnapped some marines and sailors. These guys will serve two very important roles for us. Not only will they wait on us hand and foot, but the Navy guys will keep the boat going and the Marines will protect it!

Ladies, sit back and relax as we start our cruise to the UK.

I will be in sick bay trying to recover from this damn heat stroke!

molded and dried

This morning I was thinking about myself. Not in a selfish way, but I was wondering why I am the way I am.

I know that everything that has ever happened to me has shaped me in some way.

I went to a private Baptist school where I just struggled to keep up. While I was there I was teased, picked on, spit on, and darn right humiliated. It was in that school that where my parents decided to hold me back. I will never forget having to go back to that school and face everyone I knew. It was in this school where a preachers son took advantage of me.

From there I went to a public high school. I did o.k. there. My grades were o.k. and I had friends. It was in this school that I met a gal from Austria and whom I would later go visit. It was in this school that I took night classes and graduated in three years.

I did not grow up in a broken up. I think my mother loved me, but I know my father did. It was in this house that my sister and I would fight like cats and dogs and eventually never stop. It was in this house that I learned the evil's of alcohol.

Growing up I spent a Halloween in a grave yard burying a grandmother. I spent summers at an Aunts house just hanging out with my cousins. I was never really pushed to get out of my box. I worked part time from the time I was 15.

Here I sit today. A lot of good and bad things have happened to me in the past and I know that they have all shaped me.

Trust. I don't trust anyone right away, everyone must prove themselves to me. If someone does break my trust I will never forgive them.

Love. I do not love very easily, but when I do love I love with all my heart. The people that I do love I will protect with my life and bite the head off anyone who tries to mess my loved ones.

Hope. I do hope for the future. I do hope that my children grow up to rich and happy. Yes, I said rich because being poor sucks.

Faith. I have been told that I have strong faith. Where I got this faith from I have no idea.

Out going. I woke up one morning and realized that life was passing me by. I was sick of hearing stories about other peoples adventures. So I started making my own adventures.

Forgiveness. I don't do this well at all. It takes me a very long time to forgive, and it takes an even longer time for me to forgive myself. You do me wrong watch out.

Karma or payback. What ever you call it I believe in it. I do believe that no deed goes unnoticed and that the universe will pay you back. Good or bad.

Giving. I am a giving person, but I give in secret.

So here I am. The most imperfect person you will ever meet. However if you are looking a true friend I am here. If you are looking for a good time, then I will be happy to show it to you. If you ever need anything I will give you the shirt off my back. If you ever need a good laugh then read my journal.

So today we are going back to Jacksonville Florida! Lyn today is your day to join us. We are all going to camp out at your house until we get on the ship! Do you have room for Paula's cow?

On Monday I will announce the ship that we are going to "borrow". I do think that we should allow the staff of the ship to stay. Lets face it I want to be waited on hand and foot.

If you gals have any special request then please let me know so I can make sure that we have everything we will need to a long boat ride.

Here is the link to favorite transplanted Brit! Hey Lyn I will bring the tea.

we need to hurry!

\

We have all been told to hurry. Luise in the UK wants to join us on our road trip! So I only have a few people left to pick up here and then we can cruise over to the UK!

So now I have question? Where are we going to end up? I am going to let the captain of the ship decided. I will name the captain later.

Today is suppose to be nice, so I think I am going to kick ass and get all of my house work done so I can got soak up some ray's.

After I wrote yesterdays entry I called the head of the special ed department. She is aware of the problem but there is not much she can do about it. So here is the deal in black and white.

1. Ryan's teacher was hired to teach that class.

2. Ryan's teacher has been with the system so long that they can't fire her.

3. They can't replace her because in order to do that they would have to fire the other teacher.

4. They can't fire the other teacher because then the teacher can come back and sue the school system.

5. They can only have a sub for 20 day's. So every 20 day's Ryan will get a new teacher.

As for all the other stuff in Ryan's IEP she is going to look into.

Last night Rusty and I went out to dinner and it was so nice to have some alone time. I don't think we talked about anything of interest, but at least we were together.

Today we are heading to North West Georgia to pick up Nelishia!

Nelishia, start packing.\

California's schools suck!

\

So Ryans teacher has been out since Christmas. I called the principal of his school a while back and asked when his teacher is coming back? He had no idea. Then I found out yesterday that she will be ou the rest of the year and that the school is bringing in yet another sub!

Now keep in mind the class that Ryan is in was designed to give these children living skills. The teacher was hand picked and she hand picked all the materials for all the children.

As of yet the school system has not gotten Ryan the special writing program that he needs and it is in his IEP. Now we have subs that have no idea what is going on?

I give up.

Last night was the new season of a show called the deadliest catch. I love that show! One day I am going to go to Dutch harbor. I just want to see it.

Our friend Elle lives in Alaska and she said that she got to go to Dutch Harbor on Business. Elle said that it was so cool!

I have been wanting to go to Alaska for a while. My only problem is hat I don't like cold weather so I would have to go in the summer time.

Today I have the usual stuff to do around here. Nothing exciting by any means. I guess I should be thankful for slow days.

I have however given up on that Damn fish quilt for my mom. I swear someone wrote those directions in Greek. What I have done does not even look close to the picture! LOL I guess my mom is getting another gift card this year.

Everyone knows that I have a phobia of needles. No big secret there. However I do want to get a tattoo. My dad told me that before I get a tattoo I need to be 100% sure that is what I want since I can't remove it.

So for a few years now I have really been thinking about this. I thought I would get a dragon fly. Then it came to me. I want big hippy flowers as a back piece.

I was talking it about this weekend, and then yesterday George called me. She has drawn out the tattoo and she is going to go get it only smaller? What? I do not want a tattoo that someone one else has!

Now I am back to square one.

Yes Betty that was us at the yard sale! You should have stopped! My daughter was the one walking around the big floppy hat. I must admit that she does look good in my hippy hat! LOL

This morning I was talking with Rusty about our road trip. I was telling Rusty that I could see myself living in Florida. Rusty said no, but I can see it!

I have so enjoyed looking at where everyone lives.

I told Rusty that we are going to steal a cruise ship and go to the UK. He just laughed and said "You know if we had the money I could see you doing this for real." Hell yes!

Tell you what ladies when I win the lottery we will do this for real.

Today we are off to Nashville! I have been there and I thought that it was a great place to visit. Can we all go out on the town tonight?\

very busy

Well lets see. The bread and the chili are done. Laundry is done. I sorted all of my material. The kittens are napping. AOHELL ate my last entry, so I am going to try this again.

We have just been so busy the last few day. Saturday we all went in different directions. We all arrived home only to find out that everyone was hungry and no one wanted to cook.

Sunday was so hot. So we did some stuff around here and then went to the pool and soaked up the sun. I also did some showing off while we were at the pool.

I am still able to do back flips and other stunts in the water. I just love the water.... and it nice to know that I can still do things that my own children can't do!

Monday I was gone all day. I had to go down to base and do a few things and that took all day!

Today I am just trying to keep my mind on doing things around the house.

I still need to go work on the never ending quilt. I swear I am going to get this done before my mother arrives on Sunday. If she arrives on Sunday. Her tickets were booked on American, so who knows if they will be flying by then.

Amber is loving her second job! She gets to drive all of these expensive cars, and take pictures of them. Amber is really good with a camera and I am just happy that she has found something that she likes.

You know what I want right now? A starbuck caramel frapachino. Oh that sounds so good!

Rusty and I have not really had any quality time together. I think this weekend I am going to put the kittens to bed and then lock the two of us in our room. How is it that we get so busy that we don't have time to spend it with our best friends?

Amber has prom this weekend. Amber's prom is held over on the beach. So she will be spending the night and then the next day they are going to go hang out at the beach. I just know that Amber will have a blast.

today we hare heading to Palm Harbor fl! Bethsaid that she would take us to the beach. So ladies grab your sunscreen it looks like we are heading for a day of fun in the sun!
