These are our girls. On the left is Nikki and she is the one who wants to be a missionary.
On the right is Amber and this entry is about her.
Yesterday I got a call back from the back district attorneys office.
No they will not extend her child support and insurance past 18.
Yes I can take my ex back to court and try to get the order on my own, and they would enforce the order.
However in order to take my ex back to court I would have to find him in order to serve him.
I run the chance of the judge telling us no or he could lower our support.
I run the change of my ex actually showing up in court. If this man does show up in court I will once again have to face a convicted abuser. I will have to put the children in hiding.
I know that Rusty and some of the other marines would go to court with me, and that I would be safe from him.
Rusty and I talked about all of our options. We have decided to let sleeping dogs lie. Rusty has always said that the girls would know who their true dad was because is the one that supports them and is there for them.
When Amber turns 18 (June 1) she is going to ask for a buy out on her child support. That means that any back support that is owed to her will go straight to her and not to me.
It also means that Amber will have no insurance. Amber can't get public aid because she is not pregnant, homeless or in rehab. We will figure something out.
For what ever reason, Nikki's support also goes down when Amber turns 18. Nikki will be getting a whole $30 a week for child support. What the heck am I suppose to do with $30 a week?
Well my day is calling me.

Good thing to let the poppies cheer you up after the news in this entry. My ex just would not pay and lived in Hawaii a long time. He paid before my dad died, but when my dad left me money that was it. And he only had to pay $60 a month! But he was abusive and sometimes it does not pay to get an ex with a history of violence toward your person too mad. For sixty a month. Gerry
30 dollars a week will go no where for a teenage girl. You have two pretty daughters. Take after their mom, maybe? Paula
Awwwwww Kelli, huge hugs to you ((((((((( Kelli ))))))))))))))) Love Lisa
Kelli, your girls are absolutely gorgeous!! OMG did I say they are gorgeous! They look like YOU!
I'm sorry you have all of these worries. I kind of agree with Rusty to be honest...but it's up to you if you want to go back to court. As far as insurance, can you buy her a little major medical policy? I'm sure it wouldn't be too expensive for her. When I was her age I lost my insurance, too. I got a part time job in a bank that provided me with a health insurance policy. It was a 3 day a week job, and I went to college the rest of the time. Just a thought.
You've done a wonderful job with these girls and you are a strong lady.
Pam
Hi Kelli,
I'm sorry you are going through this!
For what it's worth I think you and Rusty are making the right decision.
Your girls are absolutely beautiful! just like their mom!!!
hugs,
Michelle
Wow your girls are so pretty...for what its worth I agree with Rusty.By the way yes my son has facebook as do I . I will email you ok Louise xx
Gorgeous girls! I've got one brunette and one blonde too! I'm sorry the courts aren't more helpful. I had a friend who works for the state and her job was to find deadbeat dads.

your girls are absolutely beautiful!!! and if that is you in the field of flowers, you are gorgeous!!!!!!!!
that "sucks" about the child support; seems like it should at least go 6 months past when they turn 18; what happens to kids still in high school when they turn 18? I know Amber will be graduating that month, but still lots of school expenses associated with graduation. Doesn't seem fair at all.
I agree, let sleeping dogs lie and move on from it
betty
THis guy sounds like the scum or the earth. I have an ex like that too. Your daughters are far more than beautiful. And they are contributing so much to the world. The world needs children like the ones you all are raising. It's too bad that the sperm donor doesn't realize what he's given up. Good for Rusty for standing up as the real man in their lives. He'll be the one to walk them down the aisle on that day.
Sorry about the bad news about the child support check. It was a good decision in my opinion to just let sleeping dogs lie.
Have a great Sunday!

I think our ex's are from the same pod!
your girls are beautiful!

love,natalie
Hello! I read betty's journal regularly and I followed your name back to your journal! What beautiful daughters you have. Your pictures are wonderful. My childrens father is a veteran of the war thAT WE ARE STILL IN. sorry for caps he came home physically intact but his mind is shot. We broke up a few months after he came home.
With my ex , the first husband, I let sleeping dogs lie. I never got child support and he never had any further role in their lives. He actually thought that he was getting away with something. It was his loss. We had 3 beautiful daughters. They dont have anything to do with him. he has never seen his youngest grandson. The other 2 he has seen once but they dont know him from a stranger. What a loser! lol
They did without because of him but they appreciated what I did for them. They are greatful that they learned to depend on their heavenly father for love and support. God is faithful. You and your girls will be fine! and you have a good husband too. How Blessed you are! june
