Just hanging out

I am sitting here looking at a kitten who just knocked over a trash can and moved all of the papers out of it.... just so she can sleep in it!

We really did not do to much this weekend. I must say that I am getting really sick of all of these high temp's.

On Saturday George and I went out driving around and we found someone that was cleaning out a house. We scored so sweet stuff for free. Then we saw another house that had a pile of stuff with a sign on it that said free.

I grabbed this really cool coffee table and end table. I have gotten the end table all cleaned up and polished, so now I need to work on the coffee table. I don't think I am going to strip these table, but we will have to see.

I spent a lot of time making sure that Rusty had everything ready for his next trip. Rusty leave tomorrow and won't be back until Sunday. I would love to go to 29 palms with him, but I think the children would kill each other if I left them home alone for almost a week.

While Rusty is gone I have a few projects that I want to get done.

I need to unpack and clean out our closet. Yep, I have not even unpacked our closet yet. I guess I can give it all to good will since I don't need it? I was looking at the closet the other day and I am wondering if I really need my navy p coat. I love that coat when lets face it. I don't like snow, I don't like cold weather, so the chances of me ever wearing that coat again are slim to none. I will have to really think on this on.

Amber has drug her feet on getting all of Rusty's v.a. stuff turned in and now it is crunch time. Amber said " I can't afford to pay for my classes  four days to process Rusty's paper work." O.K. then maybe your ass should not have been at the beach? Somehow Amber's lack of planning is my problem? Oh I so don't think so.

I wonder if she realizes how many people would give anything to have a free full ride to college? Amber has it and she is just taking it for granted.

This litter of kittens is so easy going. They are starting to grow and two of them now have their eye's open. I know I was put on this earth to take care of critters.

Speaking of the babies, I need to go make them a bottle because they should be getting up soon.

I think Amber and my son would get along just fine, LOL; we would have paid his college expenses, allowed him to live home rent free, pay his car insurance etc, buy his books, etc and you know the rest of that story

great finds you found; so many people do put things out for free here and I see people do pick them up because the items are gone when I check back

and here I was thinking the weather hasn't been that bad here; I was expecting over 100 degrees for weeks on end; I'm thinking its been relatively pleasant so far this summer

I got to get back to you on lunch; my supervisor just got back from vacation, overwhelmed with emails, etc and asks us not to call or email to change schedule unless emergency until she can get caught up a bit; I'll work out some days and then call you when I know something more

bet the kittens are so cute!!

The heat has been hell on me this summer. I'm thinking it's more because of the breathing problems than anything. I'm getting quite adept at using my inhaler...of course slowing down would be another option, but I haven't learned to do that as of yet.
Skye was the same way about college. She had a free ride because of my disability. I told her I would of given anything to have the opportunity she did. Now she is working 2 jobs 60-70 hours a week. I'm delighted she has stepped up to the plate with her responsibilities but wish she could see how much easier on her it could of been...I'm hinting she might be able to go back to school part time while her husband is deployed. We will have to wait and see. (Hugs) Indigo

The picture of the kitten is soooo cute. I love to find free or cheap stuff too. John and I went to San Antonio today and just couldn't keep our butts out of our favorite thrift store. Paula

You should caption that pic "Who threw the kitten out with the trash?"  Great pic!  Yes, definitely Amber should not take that full ride for granted!

dear Kelli
what a sunny entry ( pun intended)!
very sweet. Yeah it's funny that teens today don't have a clue what privileges they have and the fact that their parents sacrifice to provide them!
I really really admire you for helping her , you and your husband Kelli, because having a huge student loan is really terrible I think!
you are awesome! I'm so happy that you scored a free table and that you polished it up nice! way to go!

Oh what an adorable photo of a kitty.  Different.  I just loved it. I do hope that Amber gets enrolled and everything going right.  Yes, she is lucky now days to have a free ride.  Dan said he joined the navy to get the $25,000 schooling afterwards, and he made the most of it.  I think he really enjoyed it.  Took what he wanted in the kind of program that interested him (film).  Now he's getting a job in his field and he will continue to write and film on the side.  It's going to be interesting to see what your girls do wth college.  My daughter Ronda went back to become a nurse at 38!  Her husband is sending her!  Great guy.  He went back too and got his masters in business.  So I am looking forward to more entries from you about her continued adventures in the institutions of higher education!  Gerry
