look!

Well I wish this guy would have showed up at my place today!

I started today with a long list of things that I needed to get done, and I did try my best to get them done.

First I went to get an eye exam and new glasses, but the place was booked. Then I thought screw it, I am going to get lasic done next year anyway.

Then I went to make a package and I was told that the bear label on the box was.... well the post office did not like it. So I had to go home and repacked the box just to go and try to mail it again.

Then I had to go to the school board and have Nikki's schools switched. Well I just love dealing with people who THINK they know what is best for your child. I did however make it out of the building with harming anyone.

Then I had to do to Amber's school and deposit some money into her account and pay a book fine for her. That should have been easy, however I had to run all over the school just to find the right people to do all of this.

Then I had to come home and clean the living room. Please keep in mind that I asked four different people to do this task and no one did it, so I ended up cleaning it. I was so pissed!

It took me forever to load all the pictures to computer and I swore I was going to throw the computer before I got them loaded! LOL

I had no energy to cook dinner, so I can not tell you what my family ate, but I am sure they will be fine.

I am going to go do nothing for the rest of the night!

colling down

I must say that I am enjoying the cooler weather here.  It is really nice to be able to sit out side and not be burning up!

There really has not been to much going on this weekend. Everyone has just kinda hung out and done nothing. It was a lazy weekend for everyone.

I have started working on a new puzzle and this one is going to be tuff, but that is o.k. because at least it will keep me busy.

I talked to my mom this weekend and my dad is not doing good. He stopped eating a few weeks ago and is down to 120 pounds. His memory is starting to go and he is on oxygen full time. I asked my mom how she was holding up and she just started crying.

I can't imagine what it must be like for her to watch the love of her life die. I wish I could do more, but I can't.

I must say that I do not regret living so far from them. I am sure that if I lived closer I could help with some little things.

It is hard to just go on with life and in the back of my mind I know that the next time my mom calls it will be to tell me to come home.

Enough on the sad stuff. I am going to go have dinner with Rusty and then we are going to go pick a friend up from the airport.

yesterday was long

So, a few days ago I asked Rusty to fix the radio in my car. Not only did my c.d. player not work, but my satellite radio also does not work! Rust went out to the car and told me that everything worked just fine!

So I got in the car yesterday and still no tunes!

I was getting ready to head over the mountain when I noticed a hitch hicker. Yes, that is right I picked up another hitch hicker! This good was interesting to talk to. He has been clean for a few years now and was on his way to see his parole officer. He use to deal drugs.

So I drop this kid off and finish heading to San Diego. There was no traffic so I got to San Diego an hour and 1/2 before C.J. was suppose to arrive.

I went to the marine corp recuit depot to walk around. The marine at the gate is looking at me real funny. HMMMm could it be because I have no base sticker, or the fact that I am missing a  plate for the car? I was just hoping that he was not going to ask to see all of the paper work for the car. Which I left on the counter, at home!

So I just smiled, and said that I was coming down to pick up a friend and that I was early. I asked where everything was on base and did my best to distract the young. I guess having on a low cut shirt helped!

I found so really nice stuff at the exchange. I think the depot has the nicest exchange ever! So I call Rusty and told him about some of the stuff that I found and I hinted that they would make awesome Christmas gifts. Rusty told me that he would let me buy all the stuff that I saw if I would let him buy an m1 gerand! Wait one second here, this new gun that Rusty wants cost $500 and the stuff I want adds up to maybe $200, so I am not liking this deal. So Rusty agreed to give $500 to go blow on what ever I wanted! I am still thinking about the whole think.

I still had some time so I went over to the museum. I walked in and noticed this foul smell. Well it was recruit day at the museum. So there were so many nasty smelling marines crammed into small rooms. I do not know when the last time these recruits showered but I do know they stunk.

The recruits just kept looking at me. OH that's right they have not seen a female in 3 months! So I asked one of the workers if I could walk through the musuem. He said sure you can and started walking with me. Then he said "make a hole" all of the recruits just moved aside and let me pass. I thought that was kinda cool. I was so thinking about saying "make a hole" every time I saw A group of these recruits just to see if they move for me. But I was nice and just walked around them.

It was finally time to go get C.J. Well he was late, by almost an hour! I circled the airport a million times before a cop pulled me over. He did want to know why I only had one plate and why the tag was expired on the car. Great now I have to act like a dumb women. So I start pulling out what paper work I do have. I just kept saying " Officer I am not sure if this is right stuff. My husband said that he was going to take of all of this." it actually worked. He told me to have a nice day and I got to circle the airport for a while longer. I guess sometimes it is o.k. to play the dumb women.

I got C.J. and then we went to Ray's place and I got all of his critters.

Man by the time I got home last night I was so ready for bed. However for some reason I am up way to early. But at least I have a nice quiet house.

more critters

Well I must be crazy. Our friend Ray called me yesterday to tell me that the pet sitter they hired has just quite!

So I am going to go get his dog and the cat and bring them back here. That will make a grand total of 3 dogs and 4 cats in the house!

That's o.k. that is what friends are for.

I am going to be on the road most of the day. I have to go to the San Diego airport, then go up to Pendleton and then take a 45 min. ride through Pendleton to get the animals. The another hour ride home!

Oh well, I better go get ready to go! LOL

what should I do first?

I actually have to leave the house and do some stuff today! LOL It has been so blazing hot here that I have not wanted to go do anything.

A lady called me yesterday in response to an ad I had placed. I was asking any glass bottles or can's that I could recycle, so that I could put that money twords the next mission trip. Anyway, a lady called me yesterday and she has two big bags of glass and cans, so I need to go pick them up. Every little bit helps.

Last night I bought the rest of the material that I needed to finish yet another quilt. I swear I make quilts in spurts. I have gone for months with out making one and then I end up making a ton of them in a short period of time.?

I got a call from one of the marines that comes here every weekend. ( he is home visiting family before he leaves for Iraq) Anyway this marine gave his mom the service flag that I made and she did not know what it was. So he made his mom look up the history of the service flag, Then his mom got on the phone with me. She was just so thankful that we have taken in her son, and that I would think to make her a service flag. I never really look at taking in people as a big deal. I just think that if my child was far away from home that I would want someone to do the same for them.

I need to go get the laundry started and then go do my running around.

off again

I know it is Monday, but for some reason I am in a good mood! Then again it has just started! LOL

Today Amber is leaving for Reno, so she will be gone for just over a week. One of her friends called last night and they offered to fly Amber to Reno! So the girls are going to be camping and boating and then they will be heading to Portland. I was like they are offering to pay for your whole trip? Cool!

Nikki and a friend are out at splash mountain today. With as hot as it has been I know they will enjoy playing in the water all day.

I am so not sure what I am going to do today. I guess I will take it ass it comes.

I hope everyone has a great day!

rain

Where I live in California there are few things that never change. One thing that never changes is that the summers are very hot and dry.

Now that I have said that we have gotten some freak storms! Last night it rained so hard that the rain was going sideways, and we lost power! Today is starting with some thunder, so I am not sure if we are getting more rain today or not.

Yesterday I managed to get to get a quilt done, and I am going to try to get another one done today.....if we don't lose power.

The children were kind enough to spill corn all over the fridge and leave it for me to clean up, so I need to do that today.

I talked to my mother the other day and she told me that me has stopped eating and is now on his oxygen full time.

oh my gosh we just had an earth quake!

Back to my dad, so he is not doing that good. I am a little sad, but not angry. I need to be strong for the children and not let them see my sadness.

I finally got to talk to Amber about her trip. She had a blast and she said that she would do it again in a heart beat! Amber also said that she ate so much rice and beans that she will never eat them again!

I need to get busy with starting my day. o.k. maybe after one more cup of coffee and another smoke!

Everyone is gone

I am so jazzed right now that the only sound I can hear is the sound of my fingers hitting the key pad.

Since the girls got home we have had a lot of people stop by to see them and the noise never seemed to end.

I am just about done cleaning up from pulling up the carpet. I swear carpet dust went everywhere! However I will never have carpeting again.

Rusty and I are really looking to buy a new house. We want four or five bedroom, and it must have a pool. OH and no carpeting!

We have looked at a few place, but so far nothing has really appealed to us. so we are just going to keep looking.

I o need to go food shopping, but I think I am going to put that off until next week. I just hope that me family does not starve by then! LOL

I need to go rid the house of more carpet dust!

what did you do today?

so what did you do today? Well, Elle, Amber, Nikki, and I all went up to the old boys school and broke in. That is  right Elle, and I took the girls and a pry bar, to break into a huge building! The door was easy to get off once we got it started! LOL

The inside of this building was huge! I was so amazed at the fire places, and the crown molding. I just know that 50 years ago that place must have been great. OH! This place had a pool that was so awesome! I had the girls take a picture of it!

Now it is back to work. All of the carpeting is up and now we have to start on the clean up process. I am hoping that will go quick.

doing demo

The girls are home! They said there were no better words to here then welcome home! However they had a blast and they are fine.

Today was the day I finally took action on the carpet that I HATE. I have started ripping it all out. So far most of the great room is done. I am going to leave the floors just cement.

I am sick of seeing the stains, and I am sick of never getting all of the hair out of the carpet. Anyway by tonight I should be done tearing everything out and most of the clean up will be done!

I am going to go eat some lunch, and get back to work.

you are not going to believe this

So this is Elle's new piercing! please keep in mind that these pictures were taken off a camera phone so they are not great!

Here is my nose ring! That actually hurt! The pain is gone now, but man I screamed when they did it.

The girls will be home in a few hours, so I will chat with everyone later.

girls come home

Three cheers for me! The girls will be tomorrow morning around 1:30 a.m. so I am thinking that I should not even go to sleep tonight!

I want to hear all about their trip and the people that they have met. Can I say this again without being slapped? I am so proud of them!!!!!

I am going to go clean up their rooms and finish getting the house ready for them to come home!

Yes, I will post some pictures from their trip once we get them developed!

to much drama

Well I am so glad that the drama at my house is over! This weekend gave me enough drama to last a life time!

A few days ago we found out that the head gaskets on the truck were blown. Hmm that we be about $600 plus parts to fix it. So the truck is not running right now.

Elle flew in on Thursday and we had fun just hanging out. Then the guy that she came out here to see came up on Friday. ( along with some other friends.... this important ) Things were going good friday night. We were all sitting around drinking and talking and just having a good time. The the guy Elle came to see went to bed.

The rest of just hung out and talked about nothing all night long. This girl named Beth started to not feel good so she went to bed. Rusty and I went to bed right after that.

Saturday morning: I am sitting out back smoking when our friend c.j. comes out back and is looking down. It turns out that he asked Beth to marry him and she said no. Ouch.

Cj leaves and then Jake comes out and we are sitting around bullshitting when Elle walks out in tears. Elle will not tell me what is wrong, so I ask her if this is a starbucks moment.

Off to starbucks we go. Elle tells me that the guy she came to see left because she confessed to sleeping with another marine the night before while he slept. What do you say to that?

I just held her hand and told her that I loved her and that we were here for her.

I get home to find out that Beth is sick and running a high fever. Ok time to break out the medicine and wipe her down with cool rags.

By Sunday Beth was fine, and Elle is feeling a little bit better.

On Sunday Tony and I jumped on his bike to go do some running around. Well on the way home I asked Tony what the law was about wearing clothing while riding. He did not know so I took my shirt off . I did have a bra on. We got some looks, but it was just so hot that I could not stand it any more.

Then on Sunday night we had a bad storm come in and the dogs were up all night crying because they were scared.

By Sunday night I had dealt with 3 broken hearts, and a sick person.

Today is Monday and I hoping for a nice quiet day. I would like to get some cleaning and sewing done. I so do not want anymore DRAMA!

I learned a new word!

My new word is Ulu ( pronounced oo-loo) It an Alaskan "knife" well I have never heard of it until today when Elle gave us one! She is so sweet!

We just went down to the lake and hung out today. Elle so loved just sitting in the sun! LOL

Today the girls are in a place called corn island. I looked at some pictures of this place and it looks awesome! Man I wish I was laying on those beaches! LOL

Well I need to go get the house cleaned up and I still need to make the bed for Elle, so I better get moving.

Below is a link for corn island and a picture of an Ulu!

what got into me?

I got up this morning and just hit the ground running!

I got all of the cars washed, and even Kevins truck!

Then I ran to wal crap to get some matters covers for the girls beds. While I was there I found this carpet cleaner that was suppose to help release pet hair from the carpet. So, what the hell I bought it.

I still have not gotten the girls bed made yet. I went into Ambers room to start on her bed and then realized that her sheets were dirty. So I had to wash them.

This carpet cleaner that I tried worked super. I liked this stuff so much that I even moved the furniture in the living room!

I even cleaned mine and Rusty's room! LOL I am not sure what got into me, but I have just kicked ass on house cleaning today.

Elle comes in tomorrow. I cannot wait to see her! I am so happy that she is thinking about moving back to California, however I do not want her to move until I go to Alaska!

Maybe if Elle is driving back from Alaska, I will join her. I think it would be fun to drive from Alaska to California.

Oh I almost forgot, I even gave the dogs a bath today!

What are the girls doing in Nicaragua? The girls ( the entire youth group) is there working with some missionaries. They will doing everything from teaching a Bible class to digging ditches. They will be doing whatever the missionaries need done!

Well, I need to go make Ambers bed so Elle has some place to sleep when she gets here tomorrow.

up date

I heard from a mom who was contacted by the girls group leader.

All of the children are doing good. They even said that all of us parents would be very proud of our children because they have really pulled together and are getting the job done!

I am so proud of our girls!

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

doing nothing

Well the last few days have been slow. I have not done anything!

I did finish all of my service flags and a scarf that I needed to get done.

The last few days we have gone to the lake and that is fun, but nothing to write about.

Rusty will be gone all day tomorrow, so I am thinking that it is car washing day. Both of our cars need to be washed as well as kevins truck.

I must be getting lazy since the girls left. I have no desire to do anything!

I am going to go do nothing the rest of night. Hubby is cooking so I don't have to!

Sunday, July 9, 2006

busy

I got the material for the marines quilts. But while I was out I thought I should make them some service flags to send home to their mom's. So I bought the stuff for that.

I spent today working on the flags. So far this year I have made six flags, and now I am working on two extras to just give away to people I don't know.

I finally got off my fanny today and got some cleaning done. Ick! I so hate cleaning!

I have been tracking the weather in Nicaragua. It was not to bad today. It was only 85 with 95 % humidity! I so wish I could be a fly on the wall and see how the girls are holding up.

I found out last night that we are not going to Oregon after all. Tony could not get leave and since he is the one that was going to get us the cabin.....

I am wondering since we are going on vacation if I can now redo the bathroom, but I am scared to ask. I don't know what Rusty is scared of. For some reason he does not "want" to do the bathroom.

I wonder what would happen if a sledge hammer fell into fall several times? HMMMM I will have to think about that one! LOL

We all went down to the lake today and it felt so good to just chill out floating in the lake.

Well I am going to go watch so t.v. and then head off to bed.

Saturday, July 8, 2006

sewing day

Today is my sewing day. I am finally going to finish a quilt that I started all most a month ago!

Then I need to do some searching for a certain type of material. I want to make two more quilts for some marines that will be leaving in August. That will make a total of four of my quilts keeping marines warm in Iraq.

I want to know how I became mom to so many marines? You know it is bad when they even call me mom!

Our computer crashed yesterday and we lost all of our pictures! Then to top it off our digit camera is broken! This sucks.

We got one of he new beds moved. Man those beds are nice. They even have a vibrate button! The girls will be sleep like the queen's that they think are!

anyway I need to get busy on this quilt. I so want to get it done, so I can start on some more quilts. Oh should I mention that I bought some material last Christmas so that I could make myself a quilt. Hmmmm I guess it will get done before I die! LOL

cleaning day

So yesterday I scored some really nice beds for the girls! This old couple was giving away two twin beds that go up and down and you can make them sit up. Any were awesome so I told the couple that we would take them.

So today I had to move the girls old bed's out. That might sound easy, but it was not. First we had to strip all the bed's. Then we ended up giving Ryan on of the girls old mattresses. So we had to strip his bed down.

Then I found so much dust under the beds, so I had to run the vacuum where the beds use to be.

Now I am just waiting for the boy's down the street to get home so I can ask them to help me move the new beds. Man the new beds are heavy! But those boys are big and young, and I am going to offer them some beer, so I know they will help.

Our middle daughter is such a pack rat! I cleaned out her room today and I took out 2 huge bags of trash and 1 huge bag of stuff to give away.

I got a call last night, and the girls made it there o.k. I was not worried about it, but it was nice to know. Just think after sleeping on cots in the jungle for 2 weeks they get to come home to some awesome new beds!

I need to go finish doing some cleaning. I just have so much energy today!

Thursday, July 6, 2006

gone

Well the girls are gone! They are on their way to make a difference in the world! Yes, I am so proud of them.

Today I am just going to chill and clean up the house a little bit.

I was thinking about going to the lake this afternoon. If I fall asleep in the sun I am sure that I will get a tan! LOL

I am off to start my day.

Wednesday, July 5, 2006

busy

All of the marines got up and headed back to base. They had to go get hair cut's before going back to work! LOL

I am so glad that I got to know all of those marines. Life is funny sometimes, if you think about all the people that come and go from your life. Have you ever really thought about how you meet people? I am telling you, it is strange!

Anyway, Rusty and I went out this morning and got all the last minute stuff for the girls. They are officially packed and ready to go.

I hope that the girls have a great time. I also hope that they will come back with a new sense of the world around them. I also hope that they touch so many people's live and they leave good memories for the people they are going to be helping.

I do know one thing for sure. The girls will never be the same. I know that they cannot go on a trip like this and not come back changed.

I was laughing with the girls and said well at least your paper on what you did over your summer vacation wont be boring! LOL

I however am having mixed feelings about the trip. I am not scared for the girls. The girls could get killed here as well as in Nicaragua. I feel sad because I am not going.

Let me explain something. Rusty has this one huge wall in the house with all of his awards and pictures from around the world. The girls are going to be joining Rusty in world travels. The girls will also be joining Rusty in the area of making a difference in the world.

I don't think I have made this world a better place. I KNOW that Rusty and the girls have. That is a hard pill to swallow.

Enough of the pouting and the pity party.

I am very proud of my girls. They are going to do what most children their age will never be able to do. Travel the world and make a difference.

4th of July

Happy fourth of July everyone! Today we are going to have about 20 people over. We are going to burn some meat on the grill, make smores and just hang out with good friend's!

All of the single marines are still here and I am happy that they have stayed. I just love to make new friends.

Tomorrow is Beth's birthday so I suggested to her boyfriend that he go buy her a birthday cake. So Rusty is out taking him to buy a cake and some fire works.

I finally got an e mail from Kevin, and he is still doing good. Kevin said that he would rather be here with us instead of Iraq. Go figure.

The girls leave in two day's and I think we have everything ready to go. Tomorrow we are going to "stage all of the gear and get it packed" That is how Rusty put it. I swear once a marine always a marine is a very true statement.

I need to get moving so I can get ready for the rest of our friends to show up.

Monday, July 3, 2006

I am just chillin

Well I am just sitting here doing nothing. There is a ton of stuff that I should be doing, but I just can't find the energy to do it.

I talked some more with that gal and she is not to bad. Her name is Beth, and she is from Chicago! A home town girl! LOL

Anyway three of the marines came up on Friday, and they are staying a few more days. I must admit that it is a lot of fun having a house full of people.

The Marines that are here visiting will be leaving for Iraq next month. The least I can do is give them a place a place to crash and some hot food.

July fourth is tomorrow and we are expecting about 20 people to show up. It will be a good time just sitting around and watching the fire works.

I hope everyone has a good fourth!

Saturday, July 1, 2006

so mad

I am still mad this morning!

Out of all the marines that came up last night, one of them was a chick. She would not even speak to me! I guess I am not good enough for her since I am not a marine?

Then Rusty drank way to much last and he was up worshiping the toilet god. I hate it when he drinks because he is not suppose to drink that much with all of the meds that he is on.

I said nothing because I figure he is a big boy and can do what he wants. He knows the risk of drinking, taking his meds and having a heart attack.

Then Rusty says that we are still going on vacation! What? we cannot afford to do the bathroom....which we have damn near everything for, but we can go on vacation?

I see how I rank! I don't. Who care that Kelli has been waiting forever to re do the bathroom, lets go on vacation! I think not.

I am still pissed off!
