a quick question

Marty and I have been talking about how sometimes we just do not want to leave our houses. How sometimes we do want other people to ask us to do anything and we just want to run from the world. Are we alone here?

I couldn't answer the poll since I never feel that extreme in either direction.  I personally like going places but I also like it at home.  When I'm sad or depressed I need people.

You are not alone.  I think it's the fast paced life we live. I can remember when my first three kids were little....I would stay at home for as much as 2 weeks at a time without leaving.  We had no phone some of the time and some of the time we had no tv.  It was a slow paced life!

I can totally coccoon for days. I love weekends because I don't have to go anywhere...
I always thought it meant there was some anti-social aspect to my character. But I also really like being at home...
I think you're normal... as normal as me anyways...

Your house is the best place to retreat from the world.  I think I have been in retreat half my life.  People did not just drop in.  Somehow they knew that I would have to meet them somewhere away from my retreat.  My kids did not bring kids over because the couch was too old or something, but I think it was really their strong feeling it was a retreat and its sanctity couldn't be violated.   Gerry

Sometimes I don't care if I ever leave the house. The older I get the worse it gets. I actually enjoy my house now, but I think it's more my ALONE time.
Take care, Chrissie

Nope! You're not alone! I get that way too. Even before all the illnesses.
