why me?

Yesterday I had to take Nikki to the doctors. This should have been an easy exercise. Her appointment was at 9:45 a.m. and we did not get out of there until noon.

Nikki needed to get a refill on her inhalers. Which she only goes through two a year, so no big deal. Then Nikki hurt her foot playing softball.

When we were done with those two issues we asked about the malaria shot, where we could get it, does our insurance cover it, and can how soon before she leaves can she get it?

The doctor just looked at me. Then he said "I am sure we covered this in medical school, but I do not know."

I explained what happened to Nikki last year. For those of you who were not reading last year, Nikki got so sick from the malaria pills. I am talking e.r. sick, cdc on the phone.....Anyway we do not want a repeat of that.

I got a number that I have to call and it is to our big children's hospital, they might have the shot. If not the doctor did say that he would give us anti vomiting meds.

Last night Nikki and Amber went and worked for our property manager. They had a blast and they are going to go work for him again tonight.

Tonight the girls are going with Tim (property manager) to pick up some cars. Amber and Nikki can both drive, but Amber can drive legally. Tim told Nikki to not get caught.

Tim also hooked Amber with another job! I so wanted to do a happy dance when I heard that Amber finally got a second job! She will be answering phone and making phone calls for this guy that owns a car dealership.

Today I want to scrub down my bedroom and my living room. I need to move the furniture and vacuum. Yes Pam I will come over and help you clean! LOL

I have started sewing on my mom's fish blanket. Now I do not know who writes the directions for the pattern places but they need to write the directions in English and not Greek. So I gave up on the direction's and I was just looking at the picture and I am trying to do what the pictures are doing. Then some how I ended up with an extra piece. Does that mean that I did it right? I swear this quilt is going to be the death of me.

Oh for the record. No I did not take Ambers laundry out of he washer. No they do not make pumpkin baby food. So I have to use canned pumpkin and water it down, then suck it into this tiny little thing and try to squirt it into a moving kittens mouth.

Today we are going to go pick up Martha and she lives in Sarasota Fl. This looks like a beautiful place to live! Can I come visit? I will just sleep on the beach.

So Martha pack up what you would to take and jump on the crazy wagon!

Martha is going to be happy to be joining us on this road trip; I think she's had a rough back to work week after spring break; maybe we'll camp at one of her beaches for the night

one of the accts I type for has a travel doctor that people see when they are going to different countries and she tells them what meds/shots they need for that country based on the CDC's recommendations; seems to me Nikki needs to hook up with someone like that; wonder if they have someone like that where you are at

love the cartoon

so glad Amber got another job! seems like a good one too!

I got sick on the Malaria taps when I was a missionary in Kenya two different times.  It made me sleepy and nauseaus.  I did have some Dramamine with me and that counter acted the symptoms.  I went through a lot of mosquito coils too.  Nets are necessary to sleep under.  I hope she finds the shots alright.

Yay! On the second job.  Congratulations.  You go girls!

I have picked up so many projects over my lifetime that I ended up scrapping the directions and doing it myself from the picture.  ::aggravating::  I am getting a new box of fabric pieces from a lady who uses Freecycle.  I was looking at somethings just this week.  The urge is so back to do something pretty for the house.

I can't get up and clean like I want to with this hurt knee.

Hugs to you all and have fun with Martha,

I'm a big fan of pheneragan pills - they also come in suppositories - they are anti-nausea pills. If I had had these the first week I had the kidney infection, I might not have ended up in the hospital, I would have been able to keep stuff down. It just seems like whatever makes her sick in pill form would be that much worse in shot form... but if your doctor doesn't know, who am I to say?
I'm embarassed to say that I don't know Florida geography well enough to know if Sarasota is on the west coast or east coast of Florida... *sigh* at any rate... glad we could pick up another Floridian...

I remember  the joy of when your kid actually gets a job.  I would even feel joy if my youngest son got a job that earned him more money than he prsently gets from a part time one and this and that.  Raymond will have to work at something this summer when his severance pay runs out.  So I am very happy that your daughters are getting work.  I think an eagerness to work helps a teen a lot when it comes to getting a job.  And your girls sound like they have very good enthusiastic attitudes (like their mom). the possibility of starving helps people to be enthusastic, too!  Gerry

Good thing I finally took a break in my busy week to stop by and catch up here! I wouldn't have even known you were on your way to pick me up! I'm off to pack the cooler, who needs anything more than that? We're all set, you'll have to stay for a West Coast Florida sunset before we get back on the road. Yippee -- Road trip!! Martha :-)
