money

Hmmm.....I gotta make this a good one............if you could change anything about your life what would it be??? Are we only allowed one?

Carrie

If I could change one thing I would change the amount of money we make.

I do not want to sound greedy. We have money in savings and we do o.k.

However I would love to be able to just pay for all of our children's trips. I would love to never have to worry having to tell my children "I will help you earn the money".

I do not consider this spoiling my children. I just want them to have more opportunities then I ever had.

Lets face it, this rules about money are made by the rich for the rich. So I want to be rich.

One of the coolest things happened over the weekend. One of our friends gave Amber all of the money for her trip to Costa Rica! I was so blown away. People have never just walked up to me and gave me the money to send my children on a trip.

Nikki now wants to go to Costa Rico. Sure I can just pull $2,000 out of my ass. No problem.

Nikki will be going to Costa Rico even if I have to sell my car to get her there.

Today I moved some dressers around. I finally got sick of my old dresser. The drawers would either open or close, but they never did it when they were suppose to! Amber had a cheap dresser left over from a yard sale so I am now using it.

Oh My gosh! Amber just came in and told me that she got a job! I am so happy for her. She will be working at juice it up. I love that place because they sell's fresh squeezed wheat grass!

Nikki is getting her cleats on and is getting ready to head out the door for softball try outs. I hope that she makes the team.

The rest of my day is going to be spent doing shit around here. I swear I have hit a dull spot in my life!

Oh Carrie if you would like to ask me another question please do so!

How great about Amber having the rest of the money for her trip.....cool!!! Would it be the same trip Amber is going on that Nikki wants to go on?? If so that would probably be a great thing for them to experience together. I will let ya know if I think of another question....LOL HAve a great day.

Michael hates my attitude about money because I am generally unconcerned about it. Honestly... I have the same perspective if I have ten dollars to my name or ten thousand. I just have desensitized myself to stress about money. HOWEVER... that is because throughout my life... whenever I needed something... it happened, somehow... and just like your friend giving Amber the money for Costa Rica... so many people have stood in the gap for me and my kids and it has been such a blessing to see how angels watch over us... to see the generousity of our world and to be able to have renewed faith in humanity because we had a need that someone had enough compassion to fill. I used to have nothing. Now I'm married to a man who makes more money than I could have ever had access to individually. I'm not always sure how to handle it... I'm still very hesitant to let Michael know when I have a need because I feel like he is so generous to us already and because I still have the "it will magically appear" perspective. I forget that he is now my angel and I can only say that it is surreal to me to have things and have access to things that we need without having to stress over money.
Well... that's my fifty cents worth... *smile*...

Isn't it great the way God works things out?!  I want to travel too.  I want to not worry about money.  We just asked our church to help us with our mortgage.  How humbling.  And sad.

Wouldn't it be nice to have all of the $$ you needed just to not have to worry anymore?  I'd love to just not worry about $ anymore.
Congrats to Amber...I hope she has a great time on her trip and also enjoys her new job!

It would be nice to give your girls the money to travel, but the lessons you are teaching are priceless!!  I admire your philosophy about them having to earn their way to wherever they want to go.  As you've said, you'll make up the difference if they're short, but they don't depend on that.  Money is a good thing, it can also be not so good, though all of us wish we had more!

Wonderful worthwhile lessons you are teaching your girls. Now days I know of parents just handing over brand new cars to their children. My two had to work at the movie theater and save their money to buy their first second hand car and they were proud of it. You are a good Mom. Paula

Money is always a worry for those of us not rich.  However being rich is subjective.  YOu have a loving family and friends that enjoy your company and you all seem to be making a difference in peoples lives.  If that isn't being rich than what is?  Remeber Garth Brooks said There are 2 dates on our tomb stone and we all know what they mean, the what's more important is that little dash there in between.

However I would also like have the ability to give my family what they need without the woory of money.

This stranger is back to see whatcha been up to since I was in funkytown.
I'm with you I'm not worried about being rich, but it sure would be nice to do whatever you wanted to do and whenever you wanted to without worry. What freedom that would be.
That's awesome that someone helped her like that. Your kindness is being rewarded. You give without a thought.
Way to go on the job. Good luck to the other on making team.
Take care, Chrissie
