here we go again

I so happy that Rusty came home last night! It was so nice to crawl into bed with the man of my dreams. I did not put chocolate on his pillow like I had wanted. Once I got to thinking about it, I just knew that the dogs would eat it before Rusty got home! I will be happy that we can spend this evening together!

I need to explain something before I tell about what happened with Nikki last night. Nikki and I are both very strong a type personalities. However I have learned that just because I am thinking it does not give me the right to say it...well most of the time. Anyway, Nikki has not learned to keep her mouth shut.

So one of Nikkis teachers called me yesterday. I was told that Nikki got detention for chewing gum. O.K. no big deal we have all done it. Then the teacher informs me that Nikki has been mouthing off in class and is getting a d in her class! Now I am concerned.

So last night Nikki called me and asked if she could go out with some children from youth group. I told her no that her life has come to a screeching halt with smoke coming out of the breaks. She will go no where and there will be no phone calling. The teacher did tell me that Nikki could re take two of the test and that would bring her grade. So I told Nikki that with all of her activities suspended she will have plenty of time to study. Nikki informed me that she will not re take the test. If Nikki is looking for a battle of wills then it is on.

Nikki has not learned that I control her life. I did ask Amber to go talk to Nikki since Amber got into a battle of wills with me and I walked into her class room and pulled her out. Oh yes I did, I even home schooled her again for 6 months. Amber knows what I will do. Anyway Nikki would not listen to Amber.

Fine I will walk down this road AGAIN. You would think that Nikki would have learned from Amber. Once again if you only have one child you are not getting the scope of being a parent.

Ryan also learned a hard lesson yesterday. I asked Amber to cook dinner for Ryan. Ryan said that he was not going to eat. So when Rusty and I get home he says that he is hungry. That is when Amber tells us what Ryan said. We sent Ryan to bed hungry. We explained to Ryan that we are not running a restaurant and that he does not get to tells us what and when he is going to eat. Oh well..... he ate a good breakfast this morning! I use to feel guilty about sending my children to bed hungry, but Amber and Nikki survived, and now I am going down this road with Ryan.

Well I got the cleaning job! I told Rusty that I am going to use that money to pay for some belly dancing lessons. Rusty said that if I take pole dancing lessons that he would put a pole up in our room! I am going to have to look for a place that has pole dancing lessons! I also think I am going to use some of the money to go to a tanning bed.

What is going on with my font size? oh well. Tomorrow we are suppose to go down to the base. Amber is meeting up with some friends to play paint ball and Rusty and I thought we would take Ryan and Nikki out for some family time. Go fishing, I want to fly my new kite, maybe do some bumper bowling. Who knows we just want to get out for a while.

I do not think that Nikki will want to go with us since she is still mad at us. So I told Rusty that if she does not want to go that she does not have to. I don't want her to ruin our day. However I will be taking the phone and all the remote with us. There will be no sitting on the phone or be coming a coach potato.

I need to go juice, take a show and get busy with life.

Life lessons learned the hard way.  They do survive, that's the truth.  :)

Hmm, well, kids and problems go together, but fortunately most of them can be straigtened out and we are on our way again.  It is a struggle to discipline.  I think that is one of the topics that troubles parents the most  Kids will always try to break your will, right?  So they can go their own way  Gerry

Glad your hubby is home.  You have my sympathies regarding the battle of wills.  I've been there!

I surely applaude all your efforts with your kids.  You are doing great!  You have more of what it takes than I did.  My hubby had to be the strong arm around here.

Thank you for stopping by my journal and I like yours. I too like to try things at least once. Most of them have been since I became a widow. Haven't done belly dancing but sure have enjoyed a lot of line dancing. I'll be back, paula
