bad day

I just got back. I had to go over to Nikkis friend house. Nikki and her friend were suppose to stay at the friends house for the weekend, but when they walked into the house the the friends uncle dead.

Our friend Jake got there before I did. He tried to do cpr, but the uncle was dead.

The girls are on the way back up here.

anyway, I need the words to stay to these girls. I need to be strong for them.

How old are the girls? How sad for them... how tragic. Just hold them. Let them talk. Answer their questions as honestly as you can. Find answers for the things you don't know. Indulge them a bit... bubble baths or whatever makes them happy... that's all you can do.
Strangely enough... I remember a time when my baby brother was really sick and not expected to live (he did - he's now 31) and my grandmother took me shopping for shoes... she bought me two pairs and I had never had two new pair of shoes in my life... and it made me feel like a princess! It helped.
Another time... my mom had to have surgery about two weeks before Christmas. A friend's mom brought a bucket of Kentucky Fried chicken over... we didn't eat out much so that was a huge treat. Small things make a difference...
