can you believe

I just these pictures.

Anyway, I have to make a run down to base today. Our friends that moved away left something at their old place and they asked me to get it for them. here is the problem. First of all Sonja left her uniform hanging in the closet! LOL She was trying to get the children settled and taking care of a child with a broken arm..... she just forgot to grab her uniforms. problem number two is, they did not leave me a key to the place. Usually they will give me a key or leave one. So now I have to break into their place. They told me all the ways to break in. I guess it is good that I do know how to break into places!

I am a vegan. I do not hide that fact. While my mom was here she pointed out to me that I was not getting enough protein. She is right. Not only do I not eat meat, but I also do not like beans. So I went on the hunt for some soy protein powder, and I finally found some that I am happy with. So I am sitting here drinking some o.j. with protein powder. Growing up my mom always kept an eye on my eating, and she would do whatever to get me to some protein. I never woke up and said I am going to be a vegan. I have never liked meat or beans. Does that make me strange?

I did get my nails done and they look so nice. Rusty really liked them when I rolled over this morning and started scratching his back with them. Rusty just snuggled down into his blanket and acted like the alarm was not going off.

I am not a reader. I do not like to read and I do not know if I would even have the time to read. However Rusty was reading this book and he would read it to me. It is call dumbing down our children. If you have a child in school or even a grandchild in school you should read this book. It is a real eye opener on how our school system is.

Please do not get me wrong. I am sure that there are some really good teachers out there. I do not blame just the teacher, I blame the whole system. My mom hit the nail on the head when she said "We started school at an older age, we were not expected to know our numbers or are abc's, that is what the teachers taught us. We had a shorter school year, and harder classes and our generation is doing just fine."

Anyway, I need to get on the road. I am going to go take some blankets to the shelter on base and then I think I am going to swing in and take hubby to lunch today. He will not be expecting that!

Dear Kelli,
Nice graphic!
Hey good luck on getting the stuff at your friends' house!
I do hope that you keep an eye on your protein intake...what about considering adding vitamin B and folic acid tablets
Well your mother obviously loves you alot!
I think that the system should include learning the tables, basic math facts, basic grammer facts, and Kelli there are a huge number of teachers who still insisit of these things. look around..it's your right.
love,nat

I didn't know you were vegan.  Have you ever gone to this blog?  http://journals.aol.com/tks333/ramblings/ Tks is a vegan and he has some interesting ideas on being one.  If you said in your comment you had trouble getting enough protein on a limited income I am sure he would have suggestions.  My trouble when I was trying to be stictly vegan was beans did not agree with me very well.  I just like them once in a while, so I have the same trouble you do.  I didn't like tofu a whole lot either, but he is quite inspiring.  I have decided to go at least partly vegan, as much as I can.  I have alot of recipes I liked from that experiment. I was always afraid when I was younger my milk would not be good for my kids, etc.
